A fun exhibition that was inspired by a box of put-together model cars that I bought in a (literally) dusty second hand shop - no longer in business - for about $10. There were a couple of hundred and most didn't even fit together properly - like a Kinder Surprise with the surprise being it's a piece of crap! I packaged up the little cars and everyone who attended the exhibition was invited to put one together for themselves.
Opening night included a guest appearance by Madame Squeeze
who serenaded the crowd with an array of car themed songs on her piano accordion (including Gary Numan's Cars & Who's going to Drive You Home - by... The Cars!)
Debbie & Debbie are called "Pitt Babes" - figurines bought at a slot car shop. As with model train sets, model racing cars have 'realistic' extras for the discerning enthusiast.
All photographs in a limited edition of 25. Image sizes vary but are aprox A3 [Actual photo size: 297 x 420 cm (11.7 x 16.5 inches)]
The photographic images here originate from 35mm negative film. I used slide film & had it cross processed plus some of the last of the AGFA Ultra colour film available in Australia. The black & white film I hand processed at home.
